Chuck Product Information
OVERVIEW
Chuck is a modular outdoor gear brand specializing in hitch-mounted racks and adventure accessories.
The system is built around a shared steel Base Post that accepts multiple attachments — the Chuck Bucket for skis/snowboards, and the Chuck Rack for bikes.
This modular approach allows users to swap attachments depending on season or activity — no need for multiple racks or roof systems.
All Chuck products are designed for simplicity, durability, and modularity. They’re built from high-strength metals, weatherproof finishes, and glove-friendly hardware.
Designed, tested, and shipped from Utah, USA.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
PRODUCT USE & COMPATIBILITY
Q: Will the Chuck Bucket fit my vehicle?
A: The Chuck Bucket fits most trucks, SUVs, and vans with a 2” hitch receiver. Some midsize SUVs with recessed hitches may need an extender to clear the bumper.
Q: How far does it sit from the hitch?
A: The vertical bar on the Base Post sits 7.5 inches out from the hitch receiver, so if your spare tire or anything else sticks out farther than that, use a short hitch extender.
Q: How does it attach?
A: Just like a bike rack — slide it into your 2” hitch, insert the pin, and tighten the anti-wobble bolt. Boom. Done.
Q: Can the Chuck Bucket carry bikes?
A: No. The Bucket is for skis, boards, and long gear. The Chuck Rack handles bikes using the same Base Post.
Q: Will my skis go flying out when I hit a bump?
A: No — trust us, we’ve tried. The Bucket’s deep pocket design keeps gear stable, and every unit includes a strap for extra security.
Q: Won’t someone steal my gear?
A: The Chuck system works great with MasterLock Python or similar cable locks to cinch and secure your gear. You can also use a locking hitch pin to secure the entire system.
Q: Can I use it year-round?
A: Yes. Swap ski and bike attachments as needed. Chuck is built for all-season use.
FIT & CLEARANCE
Q: Will it clear my bumper or spare tire?
A: Most vehicles clear without issue. The Base Post sits about 7.5" out from the hitch, and the Bucket sits 12" back. If your spare tire extends farther, use a short hitch extender.
Q: Does it work with swing arms like Yakima or Wilco?
A: Yes — choose one rated for over 200 lbs tongue weight. Avoid stacking multiple extensions to prevent excess wobble.
Q: Can I use Chuck on lifted trucks or lowered cars?
A: Yes. Lifted vehicles keep more ground clearance; lowered vehicles should check that the base doesn’t bottom out.
Q: Will it block my license plate or backup camera?
A: Usually no. If your plate is directly above the hitch, part may be obscured. The Chuck Bucket has pre-drilled mounting holes if you want to relocate your plate. Backup cameras typically still work fine thanks to wide-angle lenses.
SKI-SPECIFIC
Q: How tall are skis when loaded?
A: Average hitch height is 16–18". Combined with ski length (160–185 cm), skis stand about 6.5–7.5 ft high — typically below roofline height.
Q: Do fat skis or twin tips fit?
A: Yes — the Chuck Bucket fits all ski and snowboard shapes and sizes.
Q: Will my skis get banged up or covered in salt?
A: Not really. The interior is lined with durable plastic similar to ski bases, and the neoprene rim cushions your gear. Salt spray is comparable to roof racks. Drying your skis after use prevents rust far better than the rack choice itself.
Q: Will road salt or grime hit my skis?
A: Generally protected. For extra coverage, use the optional Chuck Bucket Cover or any ski bag on long, slushy drives.
Q: Can I leave skis overnight?
A: You can, but we recommend removing them if parked in public or freezing rain.
BIKE-SPECIFIC
Q: What bikes fit on the Chuck Rack?
A: Most — mountain, road, kids, and e-bikes under 70 lbs. Fat-tire bikes may need a longer strap for the rear wheel.
Q: Does it work with carbon frames?
A: Yes. The Chuck Rack grips handlebars, not frames, so carbon bikes are safe.
Q: Can I load bikes with racks or bags attached?
A: Yes, as long as they don’t block the handlebar contact point.
ACCESSORIES / ADD-ONS
Q: Is it just a ski rack?
A: Nope. It’s a gear hauler — great for golf clubs, lumber, camp chairs, or anything up to 100 lbs that you’d rather not shove inside your car.
Q: Do you plan to release more attachments?
A: Yes. The system is modular. The same Base Post will fit future attachments like cargo trays, mats, and bike carriers.
Q: How do I replace the neoprene sleeve?
A: Replacement sleeves are available on chuckrack.co and can be swapped seasonally.
Q: Can I buy extra straps or pins?
A: Yes. Replacement parts and accessories are available at chuckrack.co.

A: Orders ship within 1–3 business days from Utah. Transit time is 2–6 days.

A: U.S. and Canada for now.

A: 30-day return window from delivery. $49 handling fee covers shipping/restocking. Refunds processed 7–10 business days after inspection.

A: 2-year limited warranty for the original purchaser against defects in materials or workmanship.

A: Modifications, misuse, or unauthorized repairs.

A: Rinse after winter or dusty conditions. Avoid pressure washers on powder coat.
Q: Do I need to lubricate anything?
A: Lightly oil the hitch pin and tilt pivot twice per season.
Q: How should I store it off-season?
A: Store indoors or in a dry garage. Wipe down metal parts and keep pins together.
