Meet Chuck!

Our Story

Founded in 2021, Chuck was started by a father and engineer, who wanted his family ski days to be as fun and simple as possible. He wanted an easier way to load up his family's gear when heading outdoors. This led to the birth of our flagship product, The Chuck Bucket, a trailer hitch ski rack solution. Soon after, it was followed up by The Chuck Bike Rack, with the same principles in mind.

Now, Chuck fulfills orders nationwide in the USA and Canada, to ensure Adventure Happens Now!

Chuck Bucket FAQs

Won't my skis get all scratched up or covered in salt and rust?!

No! The bucket is coated with plastic, similar to your ski bases. Most damage happens in parking lots or tram lines. Rust usually comes from storing wet skis edge-to-edge, not how they're transported. Salt spray is similar to a roof rack, but drying your edges after use is the best way to prevent rust. Keep a drying rag handy — it works wonders!

How does it attach?

Similarly to a standard hitch bike rack, you insert it into a trailer hitch on your vehicle, secure it with a pin, and then tighten the anti-wobble screw. Boom Done.

Doesn't my license plate need to be visible?

The requirements for license plate visibility vary by state. However, the Chuck Bucket has mounting holes for license plates if you would like to remount your plate.

Will my skis go flying out of the bucket when I hit a large bump?

No, believe me we have tried. We include a strap just to make sure.

Chuck Rack FAQs

Can it carry my ebike?

We put an 80lb limit on the two center hooks, 60 lb on the outer and 40lb on any add ons. Plus no more than 275 LBS MAX. Our hooks may not work with center stem mounted screens.

Can I lock the rack?

Yes our anti Wobble Hitch stud is compatible with most common hitch bolt locks. Master Lock or other brands sell a variety of locks that will fit all other needs. We recommend the master lock python as it is super versatile, cheap and feeds around frames well.

How do you keep the tires from spinning?

We include a strap to secure the front wheel either to other front wheels or to the bikes frame.

Can the Chuck Rack tilt back while loaded with bikes?

Yes! It may require some assistance to disengage the locking mechanism while the bikes are lowered, and it can be heavy when fully loaded, but it definitely tilts back.
